2026-03-16

The Hong Kong Herbarium in collaboration with the orchid specialist, Dr. Pankaj Kumar, have published a peer-reviewed article "Orchid Flora of Hong Kong II: Rediscovery of Zeuxine membranacea in Hong Kong" on 26 September 2025. This study confirmed the rediscovery of Zeuxine membranacea, an orchid that has not been recorded in Hong Kong for almost 50 years, and has been assessed as Critically Endangered at the regional level.

The paper has provided the colour plate and the specimen image, with detailed documentation on the species' taxonomy, history, and flowering phenology.
